We've settled back into our quite and simple life in Iowa. The first thing that we noticed when we stepped through the airport doors into the Iowa summer was the humidity, and then the quite. The absence of traffic, appliances, and the general buzz of city life was replaced by the buzz of cicadas. The nice thing about being gone for three weeks is finding a new appreciation for our life back home.
* our peppers are ripe and ready to eat
* a few new flowers have blossomed
* the luxury of curbside recycling
* a garbage disposal
* a park facing our house and sidewalks
* 12 car traffic jam
* space space space
* relaxed, friendly people. I actually had 3 people yell at me in Seattle and started getting grumpy towards others in public. baaaad.
things we miss:
Family!!!
Food
Ocean/Sound living- seafood, beautiful sights, boathouses, docks, and mild weather
Mountains
Asian culture and people ie. not always sticking out. But then I guess that one gets negated with Khoi's hair. It's nice to be around so many other mixed families.
