Gone fishing

Khai is a huge fishing fan. When we aren't visiting local ponds he practices casting his line out in the yard. His friends love playing with his extra fishing rod, which usually means we spend the time unraveling twisted lines and pulling plastic squids out of the trees.

Today Khai caught a fish as soon as we started. Two more were caught but tangled in the bushes and Mama also caught two. The expert, Ba caught zero. Other than fish this week was also a big bug week. The boys also caught and brought home 3 frogs, one grasshopper, one hairy caterpillar, a cicada that escaped and hid under the step stool, a couple of young beetles, and lightbugs.

Backyard farming

Khai is quite the gardener. He planted a full vegetable garden with corn, pumpkins, and green beens. Here he is with his friend Bear.

Khai's got new wheels

Khai got a bike with pedals. Here he is on the 2nd day. He transitioned directly from his balance bike to the pedal bike, no training wheels!!
